Week 45~Ciudad Obregon ~ Elder Juarez

So this week was really good and crazy with ups and downs! We have been teaching Rodolfo and he has been needing to change houses to be baptized.  So we have been helping him look for so long for a house for him to move into. We went to his house to say a prayer and in the prayer we asked that we could find a way that Rodolfo could be baptized without finding a house and the next day we went to our district meeting and someone told us that we should call President and ask him what we should do. So we did. We called and president told us that if he has nothing to do with the girl that he had been with anymore than he can be baptized!! So we got everything all set up and got the interview ready for his baptism. When we went to have his interview with the zone leaders he wasn't there, so we waited 40 min., then he showed up!! In the interview, he didn't understand a question and answered it wrong because he didn't understand, so he didn't get passed. Then the next day we went to visit him and see how he's doing, then we started talking with him and he told us everything that he thought was bad. We explained everything. Then  we told the zone leaders, the next day the zone leaders called and told us that he could be baptized if he knows and has the desire of baptism! So we went to visit with him before church started at 9 in the morning and he said to us, ya OK I would love to be baptized!!! haha so we went to church and had the baptismal service during the last hour of church!! He was so happy and like a little kid!! haha it was so awesome, it was my companions first baptism in his mission!

We are also working with a 30 year old man Jorge, he has epilepsy? and has a lot of problems with his mom, and health... but he loves the gospel and the church. He is really sensitive to the spirit, and is a great guy, he is one of my good friends here in the mission. He always would say I want a Hawaiian as a girlfriend, and after I told him, I'm Hawaiian, now he doesn't stop joking about us being cousins.... haha he's a great guy!!

All is well here in Mexico, really hot and a lot of sweat... Funny story, I wore my tan pants and boom.... I had a sweaty butt, and you could see the mark from my under  pants... haha that was really awkward... I learned to wait for it to cool down... haha

Well love ya'll!!

Week 43 - Ciudad Obregon - Elder Juarez

So this week was a hot one here in Cajeme, Obregon! like i literally felt like i was melting, then i realized it was just sweat.... i sweat so much here, it because its really humid. haha but this week we had a great week. Me and my companion, are getting along great and we are finding alot of new people! like this week we had 4 people come to church this week, their names are Rodolfo, Alunzo, juanita, and Jorge. And out of the 4 we know that 2 want to be baptized. which is awsome, we were so stoked when they told us that! we are really inviting every person we teach to be baptized and looking back at the start of my mission i was so scared to invite people to do things, like be baptized, come to church, and pray, but now its just something that i do without thought haha its awesome not being as shy as i was in the start of my mission or before.. haha  So funny story this week is me and my companion were practicing contacting in the street, when he said i cant contact you... i already know you! so i said wait a second.. then i drew a face with a mustache and cut out eye holes and a mouth.. then put on my sunglasses and said Now contact me! he looked at me like what the heck... the said are you serious?? haha we practiced for 40 minutes like that! haha it is so funny looking at the pictures i took! haha good times.  me and my comp. are starting to run in the morning and do exercise to get rid of the chub i got going... haha and to get back some muscle.. because some members are telling me that the elder that was here told them that a big elder was going to come, then they look at me and say i was thinking of a bigger stronger looking elder... im just like dang... the mish! throws some bows... but im going to show them!!! haha im going to get it back!!!  We are doing great here! I really am loving the mission right now!! it has been so awesome here in this area training! I love all of you and thank you for praying or helping me any way or form! Love and appreciate everything!  Elder Horlacher

Week 42 ~ Ciudad Obregon ~ Elder Juarez

Buen Dia!!

Soooo This week has been a flood of fun!! haha
It rained everyday of the week pretty much, but it only rained like 30 minutes each day! haha But the streets were flooded and so we had to walk through it, so I got to take off my shoes and walk barefoot through the water!!! WOW, it reminded me so much of my childhood! and with the rain the power went out. So with the power out everybody came out of their houses and sat outside, so we took advantage and contacted a lot of families. When we did that we found a teenager girl named Karla, she is 16 and let us come and teach her about the gospel. Then we invited her to be baptized and she said yes, then to go to church and she said she would go. So we passed by on Sunday and she was all ready to go!!! I was like dang! that rarely happens here, that they are ready to go by themselves! So she came and on the way there she said or asked me if she could only stay for 2 hours so I said ya ok that's alright but next time you need to stay for all of the meetings, she agreed. When we got there, she found some friends and stayed the whole time!! it was awesome, she really enjoyed church and felt the peace that there is there.

We have been doing a lot of work here, spreading the knowledge of the restored church here on earth again, through contacting! We have been contacting with a lot of people including some people that really like to contend with the scriptures.... and let me tell you all, there is no spirit when we contend with the scriptures. it isnt the way the lord would teach. And I will not do that again... haha but we also are going to have a baptism on Sunday, his name is Rodolfo, and he asked if I would baptize him. So I'm pretty excited for that! so everyone be safe and read the Book of Mormon! haha read read read! it really will help with your problems that you have! love you all!

Week 41 ~ Transferred to -Ciudad Obregon from Etchajoa ~ Elder Caravello (Transferred) Elder Juarez

This past week was one of the most complicated weeks I have had my whole mission. So I'm just going to explain why.... to start of we went to Las Guayabas but I didn't have my bike because its broken, so a member let me use his, and on the way there something happened to the front wheel and it wouldn't spin anymore... so I had to walk to Las Guayabas carrying the bike.... then Javier in Las Guayabas let me use one of his front wheels to get back, and on the way it went flat.... so that was straight up a hard day!!

Then we found a new house to move into in Etchojoa, but we didn't talk with our land lord that we were looking to move. So when we finally told him, he got really mad... because we had a year contract with him which we didn't know... but then he finally told us if we wanted to leave then we would have to do it before August started, and it was the 30th of July!! so we had a day to pay the rent and deposit for the other house, pack, move, and find help, and clean the baptismal font all in the same day!!! But I can say now that we did it!! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!! haha the new house was awesome big, high ceilings like 15 feet tall, kitchen, tables, a lot of room!

And to  make the week better I got to baptize Hernan!!  I baptized him 3 times because the water was only to my knees haha so that made things a little complicated... but the last time we just had him sit down so he would be able to go under all the way, while I knelt in the water! It was a cool different experience! Then after Hernan gave his testimony of how he felt the spirit and how he wants his dad to be baptized also! So he can feel how he did, and when he said that it was like Boom there's the spirit!! haha but really!

Then later I got the news that I'm going to be transferred. and now I'm in my new area "Valles" its in Obregon. With my new companion Elder Juarez, he is new, he only has a transfer so I'm going to finish training him! So that makes me a step dad now!! haha in mission terms! but I'm really excited to be in obregon even tho its going to be a lot hotter here! but theres Wal mart here!! wahoo!!

Well love you all! be safe and be a servant in the vineyard of the Lord always!!
