Week 62 ~ Ciudad Obregon ~ Elder Yoo

Hey everyone!!!
So this week was Christmas!!! and it was great!!! We didn't have a normal Christmas dinner of the united states haha we ended up eating Carne Asada for the Christmas dinner!!! haha it was actually great! This week we didn't have a lot of lessons because everyone left for vacations but we did our best and we had some great lessons we found a new family to teach, and they are very very potential!!

So this Sunday, we went to church like normal but when the bishop arrived he walked up to me and told me hey... Prepare a talk! and that was it!!! Then he announced that me and my companion were going to give talks!! haha it was so intense but we (my companion and I) ended up giving talks about enduring unto the end-ME, and The Book of Mormon-Elder YooI .! It was pretty frightening but it went great! The attendance was only 30 people but hey its still scary.. haha

I just want to thank everyone who did something for me or someone of my family this Christmas! I thoroughly enjoyed all of the letters that I received. Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy lives and write me a letter, it meant so much to me. I love you all and it was a great time talking to you guys on Christmas!! Elder Yoo enjoyed meeting you all and thought we were crazy.  I hope all is going great!! and hope that you all had a great Christmas!! and I wish you all a Happy New Year, Be careful don't do too many crazy things!! love you all!

Week 61 ~ Ciudad Obregon ~ Elder Yoo

So this week went very well for us!! It was kinda stressful!! but we did it!! WE baptized Javier and Manuel! The mom couldn't get baptized with them for some problems in the house with her boyfriend, but she really wants to be baptized, and she will be baptized very soon!  This week we found some new investigators and have had a lot of progress with other investigators, like we are teaching a guy in a wheelchair that is named Roberto, and he accepted for the first time to actually say a prayer and ask for the answer if what we are teaching is true, he is really cool! and we also found a lady named Virginia, who has had some crazy things happen to her for her to have interest with the church!! It is so cool seeing God work miracles, so that his children can hear and accept the gospel! I just want to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and I hope everybody helps everyone feel the spirit of Christmas!! and I also wanted to thank everybody that put something in my package!!  I absolutely loved it!!! Well sorry I don't have a lot to write right now but I love you all so much!! have a great week!!!

SKYPING on Christmas

We can't even believe that it's our last Christmas Skype and only one more SKYPE call
on Mother's Day till he is home. Has it really been a year since last Christmas?
This was our greatest Christmas Present to be able to see that cute face of
our missionary!!! He is doing so well and has a mexican accent.

Navy called earlier in the week and wanted to come over to see Trevor while
we SKYPED him. Of course we couldn't say NO, it was another thing that
made Trevor SMILE so big. He was so excited to see Navy.
They even tried hugging through the screen.

This was my Instgram post for this most wonderful day!!!

Everyone took turns speaking to him and he kept looking up because there was
a bigger TV above him so that was how he could see us.

We also met his companion Elder Yoo and the Hermana missionaries.

Week 59 ~ TRANSFER DAY ~ Ciudad Obregon ~ Elder Yoo

HOLA! Familia!

Well this week I have received some big news!! That it is the day of transfers and my companion left me here, and now my new companion is Elder Yoo! He is Korean, but is from California!! He is an awesome Elder and I think we are going to have a great time here in Valles!!
This is my district on Transfer Day
This week the family Utires Ochoa accepted the invitation to come to church again, but this time it was to go by themselves, or to go on there own free will (without us elders breathing down there backs;)  they accepted it, and I was so so nervous!! When it came to Sunday,  church was getting ready to start when I put the thought aside, to think about the sacrament, when I heard the door open!!! and it was them!!  The mom came with her son, and she came sick!! She was feeling bad but she still came! She only came for an hour, but she came!! I was so happy to see them there!! It made my whole day!!! There is not a better feeling than when your investigators hold to their commitments.

I have learned that I have a lot of great friends here in this area.  Yesterday helping Elder Juarez say good bye to some members was really hard, and man I can't even imagine when its my turn to say goodbye! I had to hold back some tears watching him say goodbye, I had to keep reminding myself that I'm staying. Well, I feel weird without Elder Juarez also... haha its kinda weird but we had 4 and a half months together! and we got along great! like really we knew everything about each other! I'm really going to miss that guy!
Last Monday mom when I had to get off, we were on our way to have a Hot Dog eating contest with me and my companion at one of the members eating establishments. I ended up eating 8 hot dogs and so did my companion. I felt sick afterwards.
Well I hope you all have a great week and I also invite everyone to watch this video: https://www.mormon.org/christmas/purpose-of-a-savior and after share it and also share the video of "A Savior Is Born"!! It will help people that we wouldn't even think it! there are reasons why God is putting so many resources to move forward his work! and we ALL need to participate in it!
I love you all! be safe and enjoy the Christmas=CHRIST MORE spirit!
Love Elder Horlacher
