Week 92 - Guamuchil, Sinaloa ~ Elder Sanchez

Well this week went by really fast, but I think it went by really fast because we lost ourselves in service

... haha we offered like normal if we could do anything to help them but this week we really didn't take no for an answer! haha so every day i think we served at least 3 people! We swept leaves and dirt, we sandpapered a few bikes (I forgot how to say that verb...), we painted, we helped Charlie around town, and etc... haha we did a lot of things. BUT IT WAS SO GOOD!!!!

This Sunday Charlie came to church! and he really likes the church, the only bad thing about Charlie is that he always asks the members for money... its so awkward when he does that in front of us... haha but he is looking for the truth so we are trying to help him find it. We downloaded the Book of Mormon for him in audio. We also have another new investigator that is an aunt of a member and she wants to be baptized... haha her name is Maria del Rosario. She isn't from here but wants to be baptized here... we are going to see what happens because she can't read so we have to teach a lot still...

Today for Pday we wanted to do something new, so we decided to go on an adventure, we decided to go on a hike. We planned everything out alright, but not good enough. we left our house at 5:30 to get to the mountain on time and before it gets to hot, but we got lost and it took us 4 hours to get the little mountain... haha then it took us to get to the top about 2 hours, we didn't have a clean way so we were like "Bear Grylls" in the wilderness getting to the top. Well then we got the the top and it started raining! it was cool, but then on the way down, I saw a Diamondback Rattle Snake!! I almost stepped on it!! I was so scared but it was such a cool & tiring journey, we ran out of water and my companions bike tire popped! it was so hot!! but all in all it was fun! good times!

Well, only 17 more days! cant wait to see you all!! love you! have a great week!

Week 91 - Guamuchil, Sinaloa ~ Elder Sanchez

This week was a great week, it just flew by. We got to meet our new Mission President, Presidente Myers! He is so excited to be here, I was really amazed by his faith and hope he has for the mission. I left that meeting very inspired! He talked about how these people here in Mexico are the descendants of Lehi from the Book of Mormon, and how they have special spiritual gifts, like a lot of people here have some strange dreams or visions...I was skeptical at first but after hearing that I think its true! There's a special spirit here in Mexico!

This week we got a reference from a less active that actually was reactivated this Sunday, but we went with the reference and His name is Charly. Charly went blind about 2 years ago, but is looking for the true church. He has searched for along time, and knows a lot about the bible and all the churches!! We started talking with him and he asks a ton of questions, and he wants all of our answers or everything to be in the Bible... so we are moving very slowly with him but the funny thing is with him, is the things he doesn't like or he disagrees about, he tells us that we have strikes or points against us... haha we have 3 points against us so far... But he Came to church!! He liked the church and brought his camera to take pictures of everything, so in the future he can remember and see how it was. He believes that he is going to get his sight back. He has so much faith, he is incredible to talk to.

We also had the Daughter of the less active that was reactivated (Enrique) in the church. and she wants to be baptized, and she wants to be baptized on her dads birthday... August 16th. So that will be good, she likes the church and everything about it, shes 10 years old.

ooo also we recieved our transfers this week and we are staying the same, I'm going to end my mission with Elder Sanchez! We are stoked!! also Elizabeth and Miriam couldn't go to church this Sunday but they are still really interested and reading the Book Of Mormon! We hope they can pull things together in their work and in their testimonies. Please continue to pray for them.

Love you all!!

Week 90 - Guamuchil, Sinaloa ~ Elder Sanchez

HELLO, Hi Family

This week we had some sad news from Elizabeth and Miriam, the news is that one worker at their work quit (convenience store), so they have to start working all the hours from 8 in the morning to 8 at night! and we didn't know if they were going to be able to meet with us anymore. So we were pretty bummed out but MIRACLE OF THE WEEK is that they arrived at church by themselves and with their kids!!! It was so cool! Elizabeth is sick so she couldn't stay very long so they had to leave after the Sacrament meeting! but they came!! it was so cool to see them there!!  We also found out that Elizabeth is living with a man that is not her husband and that also bummed us out.

This week I gave my last testimony in the zone meeting, and I feel really weird now.... I don't feel like I have 22 months in my mission. But heck I have one month exactly until I get home!! This time is flying by and is so crazy.

We met a guy the other day, he's a member, and he told us how awesome missionaries are, and what a blessing it is to be in the presence of missionaries, and I know that I will miss that the most, being recognized as a servant and representative of Jesus Christ! Its so amazing.

All this week I had a Stomach Infection, so I lost a lot of weight, but whatever, i'll just have to try to gain it back!! It was really rough. I went to the Dr. and he gave me some pills and he told me to drink a lot of "SWEATO" Pedialyte. I got over it and am feeling better.

With transfers happening this Monday I don't know what they will do with me. I'm hoping that they leave me here. I love the ward here and the people. I would love to end my mission here.  It's getting hotter and hotter here along with the humidity.

I love you all and all that you guys do for me!!

Week 89 ~ Guamuchil, Sinaloa ~ Elder Sanchez

This week we got to visit Elizabeth and Miriam, and we resolved their doubts about Sunday services. We explained that the church is based on Revelation, like Christ's Church, because it is Christ's church, so we have to realize that its always better to have modern day revelation then only having the scriptures, and they totally understood. And said that they will keep going to church with us. BUT they didn't come to church this week. We don't know why but we will find out!!

We have also been teaching a less active family from the ward and the one daughter isn't a member, and they are a very humble family that lives really far out in the boonies!! So they promised us that they would come to church with us this Sunday, so we told them that we were going to pass for them at 12 o'clock, 1 hour before the services start. They said yes and so we passed by for them and they weren't ready still, so we waited 40 minutes, then we finally started the long walk towards the church. And it was really hot, and they had a little girl that is like 5 years old, and she wasn't able to keep up with us because we were walking fast, so I got an idea to put her on my bike and push her, so I did! haha it helped us get to the church a lot faster. We finally got to the church at 1:20 but we were able to participate in the sacrament so that was a huge, huge blessing. I was praying for that while we were walking to church, in the way! and we got there right as they were about to close the door!! We saw miracles with their kids during church! Their kids are very, very disobedient and they don't like the church, but one of the sons (the most disobedient) wanted to enter the classes!!! It was so cool, everyone was shocked!

Also the ex-bishop, Bishop Moreno, had a son that died on Sunday, and we went and sang some hymns at the funeral home. and the spirit was so strong, I remember thinking, "I know that God loves me and all his children, and I know that The Plan of Salvation is true. I love these reminders to me that I will see those that I love again."  It was a time that I saw so many people without the hope, or the understanding of why these things happen. And I love the Bishop Moreno, he was so strong, he knows the plan of salvation is true also, because he was a huge support for his family in this hard time, because the family took it really hard. I love this gospel and I love the plan, the plan is my motor to do good, to help me remember that I can see my savior and thank him, and live with him!! Always remember the Plan of Salvation! The church is true and I am so grateful for this opportunity that I have to share the truth with these people in Mexico.

I love you all, have a good week and look for opportunities to serve others.

Week 88 ~ Guamuchil, Sinaloa ~ Elder Sanchez

Bueno, Bueno, Bueno, Bueno
Como Esten Todos
Ok Well I just felt like I should Give you guys a little shout out since I have a little extra time
while my companion is washing his clothes. Then we are going to buy some food.
I just wanted to let you guys hear my voice. And tell you a little about this week.
This week we had a zone conference with President Munive and it was his last zone conference with us, he has 10 days left to be the mission president. The new mission president will be here on the 25th of this month, that's pretty exciting.
Ya it was pretty sad and cool to have our last zone conference with President, he and Sister Munive were crying a little bit and being sentimental with us. We bought them a cake.
We heard the last few words he had for our zone, and he told us to keep being obedient, that obedience is something that we need to learn because its an eternal principle!! I really like that because we really do need to be obedient to be able do Gods will.

Also Elizabeth and Miriam came to church with us for the whole time, so they weren't affected by the scorpion bite! haha but They came and we aren't sure if they liked the church or not because I'm pretty sure that it was a little different then what they thought. They were expecting a Bible class and in gospel principles we taught "Developing Our Talents" and they didn't realize we use manuals. Then they went to Relief Society and learned about Visiting Teaching. They were a little disappointed, they want more scriptures. So we are going to visit them tomorrow to see how they liked it or not...  but they are still progressing a lot! When we visit with them we will explain why we do the things we do and that this is NOT a "Pastor" church, we all teach each other.

The phone rings and it's Elder Vargason explaining to him that they will both be traveling home together on August 4th. He was pretty excited about that news.  He said we didn't understand why they would send them home separately one on the 3rd and the other on the 4th and traveling SOLO and lonely all by ourselves after we have spent 2 years with someone all of the time.

Happy Father's Day dad yesterday, I love you so much and thank you for everything you do for me. I love you all, have a good week and I will see you all in 6 short weeks.
